GEORGE HARDIE
George Hardie is a graphic designer and illustrator who frequently uses perspective in his work which is emphasized by the the flat colours he applies, this gives him very accurately drawn images.
Using my knowledge of perspective I did a study of two bottles and applied flat colour in a similar way to George Hardie.

CHARLES DANA GIBSON
Charles Dana Gibson was an illustrator and after hearing about him in a lecture I decided to get his book out of the library. Gibson's drawings are full of character and emotion because of how he has used line to create tone and form.
When sketching out figures I decided to use pen so that I could quickly add tone with the lines I was creating.

Antoni Tapies
Antoni Tapies is a Spanish painter who developed a very recognizable style soon after he begun painting. Tapies uses a variety of materials in his paintings ranging from soil to rope which gives them a rich and interesting texture.
To create my cubes inspired by Antoni Tapies I have used soil and string which gives them rich and unusual textures.
Josef Hoffmann
Josef Hoffmann was an Austrian architect and designer whose work combined functionality with precise accuracy.
I took elements of Hoffmanns designs and combined them using only low relief and cutting techniques, allowing me to create a Hoffmann inspired cube.

Agnes Decourchelle
I was looking for an interesting way to use pencil crayon and came across Agnes Decourchelle who uses pencil crayons to create and mixture of bold marks and colourful tones. This gives her work a vibrancy which I haven't seen in a pencil crayon study before.

The Elements Of Colour
This book clearly demonstrates how the same colour can appear differently to the eye when placed on other colours. A useful book when working with colour.
Kinetic Typography
After looking at lots of kinetic typography movies for my current project I came across this movie which really caught my eye. Its creator has used a mixture of clever composition and accurate timing which allows the movie to flow.

Hand Drawn Typography
There's something so innocent about hand drawn signs and this one really made me think about putting my rubbish in this bin, not that I wouldn't have done anyway!
